System Requirements for Akana Platform 2025.1.x
The following table provides information about the minimum system requirements for running the Akana Platform/Akana API Platform 2025.1.x, and about associated supported technologies, such as API description document formats.

Akana Platform Host |
Minimum recommended hardware per Akana container: 2Ghz CPU, dual core, 4GB RAM minimum, 6GB recommended. The above assumes a dedicated CPU for each container.
Recommended Operating Systems:
In general, any Linux version that supports the Akana Platform JRE compatible versions (see JRE version) should be operable.
Memory configuration: Default maximum heap size for all Akana Containers (Java processes): 2048 MB. Recommended: 4096 MB
JRE version: For version 2025.1: The Akana Platform is compatible with JRE 17.0.13+11 and shipped with OpenLogic OpenJDK 17.0.13+11. You can also configure the platform to use an external JRE. Akana is certified to work with Oracle JDK 17.0.12 as an external JRE. When configuring the Akana Platform on RHEL with Oracle Java 17, you may encounter issues while adding new listeners. To help resolve this, consider using OpenJDK 17.
Earlier versions: The Akana Platform is compatible with JRE 1.8 and shipped with OpenJDK JRE version 1.8.0_275 in 2020.2.1 and later. You can also configure the platform to use an external JRE. Akana is certified on OpenLogic OpenJDK JRE version 1.8.0_382-382 as an external JRE.
